Ok, so we made it again this morning Sat. 09/20/08. I tried to get more photos of cabins that people have been requesting. If you don't see your cabin then it could be gone or the road is impassable. We went to every subdivision on the beach side. I might have missed one by the school but I will get that one when I return. The state is now clearing the highway of all the sand and debris. They are starting work on the Peninsula from the Galveston end toward High Island. They have everything cleared almost to Roll over Pass.
They will then begin to make temporary repairs to the bridge at Rollover Pass. We were told that with in the next ten days they will start letting residents in to look at their property. The State troopers have set up camp at the Bolivar school, the army is at Crystal Palace Hotel and the Galveston County Sheriff is now patrolling. They are also flying Army helicopters at low altitude looking for looters. Your property is much safer now that they are all over the Peninsula.

Heather - Incredible pictures..breaks my heart. I think we have lost both our houses. The one at singing sands west and our little cabin in Caplen. I could not tell if you took pictures at singling sands. I could not see the landmark of the big round blue water tank. Did you take pictres there?
your message says there are 4 sets of photos. . . are they all included in these 2 links? We're still trying to find photos of the front of my parents' home on Bahama in Ramada Beach. thanks.
